A day off

I have taken today off from work. I have been so busy with Girl Scout cookies that I have had no time to pay bills or even deposit my cookie booth money. My house is a disaster. My laundry is piling up. I just needed a day to catch up on everything.

My husband and son are working on a remodeling job, so they are gone. My youngest daughter is in school, so the house is peaceful. I have one load of laundry washed and hung up. Second load is in the washer. Left on my list: clean the cat boxes and clean one bathroom. Clean off my laundry room desk and get my cookie money into the bank. And pay some bills. I am going to try a trick I picked up years ago from the Flylady. I am going set a timer for 15 minutes and do as much as possible before the timer goes off. After 15 minutes reset up the timer and move on to the next task.

Last weekend, my two troops had four cookies booths and we sold 701 boxes of cookies. Saturday morning was rainy and chilly. Sunday was chilly and wind – I think I was cold all day and I am going through menopause. This coming up weekend we have two cookie booths; the first one is not until 4 pm on Saturday and then one on Sunday at 8 am. I am hoping to sell about 250 more boxes.

I’m off for my last cup of coffee and it is time to get busy.

  1. Hey! I like that 15 minute idea. It might motivate my sluggish family into helping, too. Thanks!
